IR35 reforms to be delayed

It was announced this week by the chief treasury secretary Steve Barclay that the IR35 tax reform due to be implemented in April will be deferred for a year.

This is a welcome move from the Government as it gives both businesses and contractors ample time to prepare for the reform and will provide some relief for both during these unprecedented times.

The interim team at Altum Consulting have been experiencing a high demand for interim contractors. Over the last couple of weeks, we have prioritised meeting and registering strong candidates that can be mobilised at short notice with the resources to work from home if required.

Clients are increasingly relying on our collaborative and consultative approach to provide flexible solutions during this time of uncertainty. This is especially important in the current climate as clients are trusting our expertise to provide top-quality candidates that are fully vetted to the Altum Consulting standard as their hiring and on-boarding processes are having to adapt.

Altum Consulting has already been engaged by multiple clients to run virtual processes. Our teams have partnered with clients to agree how to navigate this new way of working - from interview to offer, on-boarding and handover. We are collaborating closely on our learnings from each process, sharing knowledge from both sides. This is putting us in a unique position where we can support both our clients by advising them on best practices for virtual hiring and on-boarding and our candidates by preparing them with what to expect and how to navigate the process.

If you are experiencing a demand for interim contractors or would like to discuss the virtual processes we are having success with, please do get in touch.
