Are you an experienced financial accountant with strong working knowledge of charity SORP? Would you like to put your expertise to use in one of the UKs most recognised animal welfare charities?
Altum are partnering exclusively with this household name, to find a qualified financial controller, experienced in leading charity statutory accounts preparation and managing statutory processes for a period of 4-6 months initially.
Responsibilities will include;
Producing monthly management accounts and responding to budget holder queries
Complete balance sheet, bank reconciliations and month-end journals
Producing the year end statutory accounts including schedules
Managing the processes for VAT, gift aid and PAYE, liaising with HMRC when required
Supporting with the implementation of a new accounting system
Updating and reconciling fixed asset register, monthly salary journals and investment register
A CCAB accounting qualification and at least one year post qualification experience
Experience of preparing accounts to charity SORP
Experience of preparing monthly management accounts
Understanding of payroll
Some experience of supporting or leading on accounting system changes/upgrades

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit and friendly team, committed to changing the lives of any cat or dog who needs help. The contract will be for 4-6 months initially but could possibly go permanent. The ideal start date would be start to mid-October but we are flexible around this.
