Altum are delighted to partner with a well established Tech based delivery service to find a SOX FInancial Accountant. This is a great opportunity for a qualified Financial Accountant to manage and be responsible for ensuring a high standard of suitable controls are in place and followed to achieve SOx compliance as well as maintaining the UK Risk Register and leading a continuous risk mitigation program.
This role will suit a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a 1-2 years working experience in SOx compliance, Audit, Risk Management, and general Financial Accounting.
Responsible for Groups SOX compliance,
Maintaining a weekly, monthly and Annual checklist of expected SOx controls and ensuring that the controls are performed, approved and saved down as appropriate within agreed timeframes
Responsible for the redesign and implementation of either new controls or existing controls as scope and business process change
Responsible for ensuring the business is trained and educated and has a clear understanding of their SOX responsibilities.
Responsible for working with all key control owners to review and improve controls where possible to ensure the controls work as well as possible for the operational side of the business while still maintaining compliance
Perform quarterly risk assessments: Analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company
Ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place for each Risk identified in the Risk Register
Risk reporting tailored to UK Leadership and to Internal Audit
Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company
Maintain effective relationships with wider business with regards to SOx communication and understanding
Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant
At least 1-2 years post qualified experience in SOx, Compliance and Risk Management
Up to date knowledge and understanding of SOx framework
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage own workload and co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders
