Altum are proud to be partnering with the Trust in the search for its new Head of Finance. The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading on all financial activity for the Trust, forming part of the senior management team while also acting as Company Secretary.

Responsibilities will include

  • Preparing annual budgets in conjunction with the senior management team and reporting regularly on budgets against actuals

  • Providing effective cash management to ensure sustainability and assist with future strategy development

  • Producing the management accounts and attending committee meetings to report on these

  • Leading on the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and managing the relationships with the auditors

  • Overseeing two direct reports responsible for AP/AR and payroll processing

  • Ensuring strong financial control and compliance

  • Preparing VAT returns and ensuring all deadlines are met on time

  • Implementing/optimising systems and processes where possible

  • Acting as Company Secretary and ensuring compliance with health and safety and GDPR legislations, as well as organisation policies

The ideal candidate

  • Will be a fully qualified CCAB accountant with at least 2-3 years post-qualification experience

  • Have been heavily involved in a charity year-end and have good working knowledge of Charity SORP

  • Will be positive, motivated, resilient, and keen to uphold the principles of the Shuttleworth Trust
