Are you an aspiring accountant with a keen interest in working within the international development sector? Would you like to put your skills to use to empower the world’s poorest communities?

We’re recruiting for an ambitious International Project Accountant to join a highly regarded international development charity whose mission is to improve the lives of most marginalised communities in the Middle East and Africa. The role, which has been created due to increased funding, will work closely with programme teams to provide support to the full life cycle of grants from proposals to close and final report.

The International Project Accountant will be responsible for;

  • Leading on grants & contract compliance and management of financial processes and reporting
  • Providing technical advice on compliance and financial management of donor-funded programmes
  • Supporting the development and submission of proposals for grant and commercial contracts
  • Building capacity of programme, finance and other field-based staff
  • Managing financial and operational risks in programme portfolios
  • Supporting on audits and statutory compliance
  • Maintaining up-to-date information on systems and databases
  • Working with others to build & improve stakeholders’ relationship

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be ideally a finalist level CCAB accountant
  • Have experience or exposure to grant accounting in either an in-house, audit or even voluntary capacity.
  • Be willing to learn.
  • Possess excellent communication and excel skills.
  • Be able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Be passionate about international development and upholding the values of the organisation.
