Altum Consulting is delighted to be partnering with Goodenough College, London's finest postgraduate residential community, in its search for an ambitious and personable Management Accountant. The college, which boasts an on-site hotel, events space and the Queen as their patron, provides a truly collegiate experience for 700 of the brightest minds studying at London's top universities.
The Management Accountant will play a key part of the college’s finance team, providing support to the newly appointed Head of Finance by leading on annual budgeting and forecasting and management accounts preparation. You will business partner a variety of stakeholders across the organisation. The postholder will also line manage an Assistant Management Accountant.
Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, including variance analysis, commentary, balance sheet, cash flow
Develop strong relationships with budget holders, managers and Directors, fostering an environment where business partners take ownership for their financial performance
Lead on annual budgeting and reforecasting processes, including preparation of key documents for the Board and Finance Committee and presentation to the Executive team
Lead on College reporting and analysis for management information purposes.
Provide support to the College’s business activities through its subsidiaries, which include the hotel and events business, developing bespoke reporting
Develop and use Excel modelling to support finance elements of business case maintenance of 30 year long-term forecast
Management of restricted funds reporting including analysis, ensuring donor compliance
Record, analyse and report on performance against KPIs as part of management information, and provide ad hoc reports when necessary
Develop and maintain the management accounts reporting systems and structures.
Line manage and support the Assistant Management Accountant
Deputising in Head of Finance’s absence
The ideal candidate will;
Be either a finalist or fully qualified CCAB accountant
Have experience in management accounts production including budgeting & forecasting
Be organised, have strong communication skills and the ability to “tell the story”
Have strong excel skills and some supervisory experience
Candidates are likely to come from the charity/education/hospitality sector however if you are recently qualified from practice or have management accounts experience from other industries you are welcome to apply!
