Head of Finance Business Partnering

Altum Consulting are pleased to be partnering with a global retailer based in London to secure a Head of Finance Business Partnering. Our client is currently going through a period of significant growth, which in turn has created the need to hire a commercially focused finance professional with a proven track record of process improvement and providing valuable insight into business performance.

The role will be accountable for the design and execution of optimised reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and knowledge management processes, provide financial and commercial support to the Executive team and other managers; influence decision-making; improve the understanding of business performance; develop and deliver on business unit strategy; deliver analysis and insight on opportunities and decisions that have a financial impact.

The successful candidate will be managing a team of four qualified finance business partners and report directly into the Head of Commercial Finance.

Key Responsibilities,

• Leading a team of four finance specialists with accountability for designing and executing effective and efficient finance business partnering processes and practices.
• Providing value-add financial leadership and partnering services to the Executive and Senior Management teams across the Group.
• Developing with management initiatives that generate financial value, then supporting the effective execution through active collaboration and challenge (as needed).
• Managing robust and value-add group wide budgeting and strategic planning process, to include profit and loss, cash flow and earnings forecasts, delivered through close working with the FP&A Director, Financial Reporting and Control team, Asset Finance team and other key stakeholders responsible for the relevant business areas.
• Managing the continued development and improvement of budgeting, financial forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
• Producing and presenting financial analysis to senior external stakeholders (including Shareholders, Partner and Funder representatives and others) to influence decision making and present position effectively.
• Developing and coaching the Business Partners to ensure continuous improvement, consistency and collaboration.
• As a member of the Finance leadership team, shape and deliver engagement initiatives and role model our values and behaviours, acting as an ambassador for the brand with our university partners, students, and colleagues across the business.

Required Experience,

• Be a fully qualified accounting professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant years PQE.
• Previous experience in FP&A and Business Partnering
• Retail sector experience desirable.
• Advanced financial and commercial acumen and proven ability to apply judgement, knowledge & intellect to achieve successful business outcome
• People management experience with track record of effectively engaging finance professionals
