Head of Finance and Resources | £48-52k | Charitable Heritage Site| Permanent

This Head of Finance and Resources position is a unique opportunity to join a well-known historic site and charitable trust as they go through an exciting period of change and growth. This role will be primarily focussing on management of the finance function, processes and team as well as having oversight for HR & IT.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director, lead on all financial and management reporting for the organisation under Charity SORP.

  • Deliver monthly management accounts to the Executive team including managing the annual budgeting process, accounting for complex income streams.

  • Prepare papers for the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee as well as manage and lead the annual audit process.

  • Regularly work with budget holders across the organisation to review strategy and work as a key business partner to stakeholders.

  • Implement and improve various processes and controls to ensure an efficient way of working.

  • Oversee HR & IT by working with outsourced providers.

  • Work closely with grants team to assist with financial information when working on bids.

  • Manage a small team.

Person specification:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA).

  • Strong experience in managing a finance function and have led on management and financial reporting previously.

  • Experience of working with complex income streams.

  • Ideally have experience or an understanding of managing IT and/or HR functions.

  • A self-starter who is happy to ‘get stuck-in’ and be involved with various ongoing strategic projects.

  • Ideally have experience of working within charity and/or events/marketing.

This opportunity has the option for flexible working and some remote working as well as being based in a picturesque working environment.
