We\'re partnering with a much-loved animal welfare charity to find an experienced and versatile Interim Head of Finance and Resources. The charity is committed to improving the lives of animals and people in the local communities, ensuring that animals and their owners receive the support they need.
This is a critical leadership role, where you will be responsible for the overall financial health of the charity. You partner closely with the Chief Executive, and drive financial planning, implement financial controls, and provide expert financial guidance to support the mission and ensure long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies to support the charity\'s objectives and growth.
- Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available for decision-making.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and manage risk through effective internal controls and auditing processes.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the small finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, the board of trustees, and external partners to communicate financial insights and recommendations.
- Introduce and optimise financial reporting processes and systems for greater efficiency and transparency.
- Facilities Management: Oversee the outsourced maintenance and improvement of centre facilities, ensuring they are safe, secure, and fit for purpose.
- IT Management: Oversee the charity\'s IT infrastructure and manage the outsourced relationship with the IT suppliers
Qualifications and Experience:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
The organisation works on a hybrid basis with ideally 2 days per week required in the office.
