Altum are currently working with a FTSE 250 manufacturing business on a newly created role, which will support the Group FP&A Director.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Develop quality, easy to maintain reports to challenge business performance and forecasting and maintain strong data management disciplines
  • Assist in the delivery of clear monthly reporting and results analysis
  • Gain a detailed understanding and insight into a portfolio of business units
  • Detailed analysis to understand KPIs and trends, challenge business performance, and improve forecasting accuracy
  • Detailed analysis of variances to budget and forecast
  • Assist in the forecasting and annual planning cycle requirements; challenge and assess business plans to ensure they are robust
  • Work closely with the Group Reporting function and Business Units to drive robust financial reports that meet Group guidelines and timelines, including input and support for system reporting improvement initiatives
  • Foster a close partnering mentality with colleagues and peers across the finance community
  • Assist the Investor Relations function with messaging to the investor community
  • Other ad-hoc initiative and systems interrogation as required

Person Specification

  • Qualified (ACA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ post qualified experience, preferably in a complex international group reporting function
  • Previous experience with working in a FP&A function
  • Strong inclination for getting out and talking to people to drive initiatives and understanding
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret trends whilst appreciating commercial drivers and preparing high quality and insightful commentary
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and finance systems interrogation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team player
  • Ability to work under pressure during key times
