Position

The Global Process Owner (GPO), Hire to Retire (H2R) will be responsible for driving the Global H2R enterprise strategy by driving process improvement and standardization initiatives that benefit the Global H2R Operations and business.  The GPO will help drive the strategic agenda of Global H2R by partnering with the BPO provider and Transformation office. The transformation office is currently stabilizing operations within the BPO after transitioning 1800FTEs from existing SSC hubs and additional scope from 40+ countries, building up its capabilities, implementing new technology solutions and harmonizing global processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Transformation and Continuous Improvements

  • Maintain responsibility for the Global H2R end-to-end processes and ensure process objectives are realized including the design of new processes and the authority to make changes to existing processes that will meet business needs.
  • Drive process improvement and standardization initiatives for Global H2R and partner with the GPO Director to communicate the impact and implementation plan to key stakeholders.
  • Support the design and implementation of the global transformation program.
  • Design the People, Process and Technology Roadmap in partnership with GPO Director, the IT organisation and BPO providers. The Roadmap is a multi-year plan that includes ongoing process standardization, simplification and automation opportunities which drive year over year efficiency improvements.

Standards and Controls

  • Design appropriate processes and procedures that adhere to regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Establish and maintain an appropriate control environment for Global H2R.

Performance

  • Monitor the overall health of Global H2R processes including evaluating trends in KPIs and other efficiency metrics.
  • Make recommendations for metrics, KPIs or CPIs that will have a meaningful impact on the performance of the Global H2R operations if measured and tracked. 
  • Analyse significant business escalation matters and determine if end-to-end process updates are warranted.
  • Partner with the Global H2R Leader to design a robust governance program for Global H2R which ensures transparency in service delivery performance, engages key stakeholders and fosters a strong partnership with the BPO. 

People

  • Partner with the BPO providers to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the Global H2R team in delivering high quality and efficient services to key stakeholders.
  • Continually challenge the Global H2R organizational structure and staffing capabilities as appropriate for growth and changing business needs. 
  • Build and maintain strong customer-oriented relationships across the business and key functional groups.

Candidate

  • 8+ years’ experience in H2R environment including managerial positions of increasing responsibilities, ideally in a GPO capacity
  • Leadership experience within an outsourced or shared service H2R function
  • Experience of implementing technology solutions within the H2R area
  • Thorough understanding of controls, with varied experience in H2R areas (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Payroll etc.)
  • Significant experience and use of ERP software and familiarity with H2R subledger systems and interfaces
  • HR operations experience including implementation of HCM systems a plus

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven ability to implement business process changes to improve operating efficiencies
  • Executive presence, ability to interact with executives at high levels to resolve issues or effect changes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management and customers
  • Ability to drive change and influence within a matrixed and decentralized operating model
  • Ability to work in a remote function or team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
