FP&A Accountant

​We are proud to be partnering with Independent Age to find a dynamic and collaborative FP&A Accountant.

The charity has over 150 years history in helping the vulnerable older generation live well with dignity, choice and control. Older people are at the heart of everything they do. After recently undergoing a lot of organisational changes they have redefined their mission strategy to make even a bigger impact in the community.

The FP&A Accountant will help execute the new strategy by forming a pivotal part in the organisational planning and strengthen overall financial stability within the charity by providing insightful strategic financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

  • Development of insightful regular financial reporting to enable effective decision making

  • Build and maintain the 10-year financial model to support the strategic planning process

  • Contribute to development of the annual planning and forecasting processes

  • Development and reporting of organisation’s KPI reporting framework

  • Generate future orientated reports including analysis and insight to identify risk and opportunities

  • Design and implement business case templates and process for financial investments

  • Develop and maintain a cost recovery model · Support with financial analysis and modelling for M&A opportunities and contribute to financial due diligence

  • Participate in cross team projects providing financial modelling and analysis when required

The candidate should be a qualified accountant and a real 'people’s person’ with excellent communication skills and ideally come from a not for profit/ charity background. Applications for commercial sector candidates are welcome if you can demonstrable passion for, and affinity with the charity’s mission statement. You will have proven experience of financial planning, developing reporting and building financial models.
