Financial Controller - Energy

Altum Consulting have the pleasure of partnering with a fantastic, vibrant scale-up business within the renewable energy sector to support their search for an experience Financial Controller to join their high performing finance team.

This role is located in their HQ which is based in the heart of central Amsterdam in a wonderful new office! Given the companies youth, the business is fun, dynamic and growing organisation and are looking for like minded people to join the team. They business is striving to offer 100% green energy to households and customers across The Netherlands.

Reporting to the Financial Controlling Manager and working specifically for the B2C Energy division, you will be responsible for:-

Role and Responsibilities;-

• Monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
• Checking the accuracy of the annual accounts and balance sheets
• Processing the accurate figures for the "energy balance" including turnover and gross margin
• Work with the wider Financial Controlling team on areas such as;- accounts receivable, working capital and cash flow
• Provide financial and management reports to the leadership teams
• Maintain and improve financial reports and processes where needed
• Ensure correct internal controls and governance are implemented
• Identify various improvements to be made within the internal controls environment

Education & Experience:-

• Educated with a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• 5 years experience working within accounting and control
• Ideally worked within a professional Audit firm
• Experience working within the energy or utilities sector is a plus
• Comfortable working within a dynamic and changing environment
• Proven experience working with financial reporting and closing processes
• Advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of SQL is advantageous
• Fluency in Dutch both listening and reading. Advanced speaking Dutch skills is desirable
