Altum Consulting are pleased to be supporting a global, market-leading real estate business in their search for a commercially-focused Finance Manager.

The role will be supporting a recently acquired division through a period of growth, providing support to the Finance Director and other Executive team members to positively contribute to the growth of the business by being an active, collaborative member of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities,

  • Support the Finance Director in the annual business planning process and wider 3-year strategy

  • Preparation and analysis of business forecasts and projections

  • Assist in decision making and implementation of the strategic goals of the business

  • Perform timely Competitor and Market Reviews

  • Work with the Finance Director to build finance models for the business to facilitate more accurate project profitability analysis

  • Helping to design and support variable compensation modelling for the business

  • Work with the business to improve working capital management

  • Responsible for the delivery of timely management information, including profit and loss statements and business line Board reports on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Assist the Finance Director in quantifying project specific business and finance risks

  • Partnering with the business to provide value-added management information

  • Preparation/ownership of month end and variance reporting

  • Attend monthly CVR meetings ensuring that the status and profitability of all projects is accurately reflected in the Management Accounts

Required Experience,

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA) with 3-5 years PQE with solid management accounting experience preferable albeit other candidates of the right calibre will be considered

  • Analytical mind, with the ability to understand the business and assist in implementing the strategic goals of the business

  • Good basic understanding of accounting / systems

  • Strong communication skills

  • Able to build effective business relationships at all levels and used to working in a matrix organisation

  • Has initiative and can work with minimum supervision

  • Confident working within a fast paced, challenging environment

  • Pro-active, problem solving and results orientated

  • Ability to prioritise workload with an attention to detail and willingness to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner

  • Excellent excel skills

  • Previous working experience with Peoplesoft and Cognos TM1 preferable

  • Previous experience in the construction industry or property Desirable
