​This is an exciting opportunity to work with a commercially focused charity, leading the finance function and developing more efficient ways of working across the department. Reporting into the Finance Director, this role will require a strong charity accountant with excellent technical accounting skills. There is huge opportunity in this role to learn and develop in your career to longer term work towards a more senior position such as Head of Finance/Finance Director.

Key responsibilities of Finance Manager:

  • Leading on the annual audit cycle and year-end process.

  • Line manage 2 Finance Officers and oversee the work of the transactional finance function.

  • Delivering accurate and relevant monthly management accounts to various business units.

  • Analyse and develop policies and processes across the finance function to improve efficiency and reporting quality

  • Lead on VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations and control account reporting

  • Provide business partnering support to key areas of the charity.

  • Analyse management information to deliver accurate and up to date reporting.

Candidate requirements for Finance Manager:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA).

  • Some experience of working within the charity sector (knowledge of Charity VAT and Charity SORP).

  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience of leading on year-end/audit process.

  • An ambitious and proactive individual

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work unsupervised and use your own initiative
