Altum Consulting have been engaged on an exclusive basis by a high-growth, international marketing business to hire a new Finance Business Partner on a permanent or temp-perm basis.

Role overview:

This role acts as the Finance Partner to the Marketing & Advertising Director and will be responsible for managing and advising them on budget, forecast, strategic growth and cost-saving.  This is a unique opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong communication and soft skills to help drive strategy.

  • Partner the Marketing Director to provide financial insight on a weekly basis
  • Contribute to scenario analysis and ad-hoc projects to realise opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Use financial models and data analysis to monitor competitor activity and advise the Marketing department on their focus
  • Be a reliable partner to the Finance Director on all key financial decisions
  • Create and present succinct reports for non-finance stakeholders
  • Act as a calm and responsible member of a high-performing team
  • Be equally confident supporting experienced accountants and advising senior non-finance staff
  • Manage multiple deadlines, and work with a number of finance systems, across varied geographies, to deliver timely and accurate financial information
  • Own the financial results of the business unit taking actions to ensure targets are hit
  • Provide commercially orientated financial support to budget holders and senior management to help inform their decision making
  • Help drive best practice and standardisation across the finance and non-finance teams to improve accuracy of budgets, forecasts and grow commercial value of deals and partnerships
  • As a qualified commercial accountant, you will still be able to support the finance team during busy periods and be comfortable turning your hand to a range of finance activities including:
    • Annual budget, quarterly forecast and long-term plan

Person Specification:


  • Preferably ACA/CIMA qualified
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industry
  • Must have experience with advertising and marketing, preferably digital
  • Demonstrable experience partnering non-finance senior stakeholders
  • University degree or alternative strong academic record
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communicator, able to engage stakeholders from a non-finance background and build effective relationships with a range of people


  • Experience working in an advertising agency network or brand
  • Strong understanding of digital
  • Knowledge of how online advertising is monetised
  • Experience with structuring of advertising deals perhaps with print businesses or broadcasting organisations a plus
