Altum Consulting are pleased to be partnering again with one of our clients on an exclusive basis to support their search for an experienced finance professional to take the lead in a newly created role within their finance team as a CAPEX Project Controller.

Since establishing in 2018, our client has fast become a strong competitor within their niche area of property investment. With properties all across Europe, they have made some significant and strategic investments resulting in a fantastic portfolio with nearly €2bn gross asset value.

2022 is looking to be a very exciting year for the business with some multi-million Euro contracts underway, therefore they are looking to expand the finance department by hiring a CAPEX Project Controller.

This will be an integral role within the business, working in a cross-functional role that will support the finance, project and CAPEX teams to manage, monitor and track all existing and new projects.

Role & Responsibilities;-

  • Supporting the Project Managers by monitoring the financial position of all on-going projects

  • Cost tracking of all projects, allocating the costs to the correct cost-centres

  • Monitoring capital spend against budgets

  • Maintaining and updating the forecasts, re-forecasts and variance analysis

  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register

  • Work closely with the Project Manager, CAPEX team and leadership teams to oversee the administration of contracts, invoicing process and purchase orders, requesting approvals where required

  • Ensure accurate tracking of all projects by supporting the design and implementation of effective tracking tools

  • Support the wider finance department;- processing payments, month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, booking of journals, VAT/Tax related activities, year-end audit processes and various ad-hoc tasks

  • Offer input to ad-hoc projects that occur due to company growth

Education & Experience

  • Educated with a degree in Finance, Accounting Economics or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of professional experience working within accounting in an international environment

  • Experience working on projects within the Real Estate sector is highly desired

  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in MS Office and bookkeeping software

  • Fluency in English is essential and any other European language is a benefit

  • Comfortable working in a small, hands-on team within a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter who is results driven and able to work to tight deadlines

  • Must hold a valid work permit for The Netherlands as sponsorship is not possible
