We are seeking an experienced Accountant within The Business accounting team of 4 reporting to The Finance Manager. The role will carry responsibilities for accounting for subscription revenues derived from digital 3rd parties, sales to B2B customers, Education businesses and other revenue streams from 2nd rights and licensing activity. In addition, the role involves supporting other circulation accounting including bad debts, overheads and assisting FPA teams with analysis.

Main Activities and Key Accountabilities

  • Accounting for global digital third party revenues and partnering business managers in this area to ensure completeness of activity
  • Accounting for Education business revenues and costs and partnering business managers in this area to ensure completeness of activity
  • Accounting for Second Rights and Licensing and partnering business managers in this area to ensure completeness of activity
  • Accounting for circulation sales for B2B customers and partnering business managers in this area to ensure completeness of activity
  • Accounting for overheads
  • Accounting for bad debts
  • Variance analysis for digital revenues for inclusion in management reporting packs
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support year-end audit
  • Liaise with Financial Planning and Analysis teams to enable smooth flow of delivering monthly forecasts and budgets
  • Ad hoc projects/ analysis as required
